We will participate in the Ambiente fair to be held on 10 - 14 February 2012 in Frankfurt. You will find us at the hall Loft, 11.0 F35. You are most welcome to our stand.

New premises in Vallila, Helsinki

In January we moved to Pälkäneentie in Vallila where all our functions are concentrated: showroom, office, outlet store, storage and packing.

We will open an outlet store in March. The store will be open as from 3 March 2012 twice a week, on Wednesdays from 12 till 18 hrs and on Saturdays from 11 till 15 hrs. Besides Feel Felt interior decoration items and Pionina felt jewellery you will find a variety of brand interior decoration and garden items in our store. Welcome. New product launches at Habitare

Dekorando launches the newcomers of Feel Felt product range at Habitare 2011- interior fair: wall hangings, cushions and floor cushions. New gorgeus, hand-made chain stitching cushions and runners from Kashmir are also available.
Additionally there are new seasonal colours available in the basic series of Feel Felt- product range, e.g. trivets, coasters and felt ball rugs.

Wall Hangings with a modern twist

Our new series of wall hangings combines tradition and modern interior decoration. The decoration patterns of the wall hangings are heavily based on old Finnish wall hanging “raanu”, but the material differ from the tradition: they are completely made of felt balls.

”I think now is the right time to create a modern wall hanging, which brings the appreciation of them as interior decoration  elements back. The decoration patterns and the material bring warmth and softness to interior spaces. They help to keep the “cold and sterile look” away from homes”, explains the designer of the product series Elina Uramo

”Sizewise these modern interior decoration elements fit better in today’s homes, where the wall space is limited, without losing the impressiveness of old big traditional wall hangings “raanu” or “ryijy”. To add to the eye-pleasing look, the wall elements made of felt balls also soften sounds and that way influence the pleasant atmosphere of sounds at home”, she adds.

Hand-made cushions with surface structure

Our Feel Felt- product range has expanded with cushions, the upper sides of which are made of felt balls. There are two sizes, the smaller one is for sofas and arm chairs and the bigger one is a floor cushion. As we value handicrafts, we are constantly looking also for other ways to create beautiful interior textiles. This is why we have added the high quality chain stitching cushions from Kashmir to our Dekorando Interiors- series.

The connecting thought behind all products of Dekorando is modern handicrafts and natural materials. We design products, which get users into a good mood and create jobs to Nepalese women. Feel Felt products are designed in Finland. They are mainly made of felt balls, which with their simple shapes create interesting three dimensional surfaces. The product range consists of small interior decoration products, cushions, rugs and wall hangings.

Elina Uramo has graduated as a product and furniture designer from Ravensbourne art university. She is part of the product development team of five members.
